The Stables Equine Practice was established in 1997 when Nicko Robertson returned to his Somerset roots from equine practice in Hertfordshire. The founding principles of offering a high quality and personal first opinion 100% Equine Practice continues twelve years on, with additional vets and constant updating of equipment and services. These services include a range of upto date diagnostic procedures, digital radiography, ultrasound imaging, endoscopy and electrocardiography. The Stables Equine Practice is experienced in dealing with horses and ponies involved in all competitive disciplines, breeding, as well as pleasure horses and those kept as companions. Unlike many practices, we don’t hide our vets from owners, they are accessible directly on mobile phones, as we believe that part of the personal service includes being able to discuss problems directly with vets before they become dramas! The Stables Equine Practice maintains strong relationships with the best referral centres for surgery and advanced diagnostic imaging, allowing us to chose the referral centre that is most appropriate for any given scenario. This ethos of cooperation extends to other equine professionals and para-professionals; we work closely with all the local farriers and equine dental technicians as well as equine physiotherapists, whose areas of expertise complement ours.
